The Emerson Public Library provides internet access to its residents in fulfillment  to its Mission Statement:

To provide quality services, resources, and lifelong learning opportunities through books, and a variety of other formats to meet the informational, educational, cultural, and recreational needs and interests of its diverse and changing population.


Policies for Computer and Internet Access

The Library has five desktop computers and four laptops for patron use. All computers have Word, Excel and PowerPoint availability.

The Library upholds ALA’s Library Bill of Rights: all users are to be provided with equal access to all Library resources.

Computers are available on a first come first served basis.

Parents and guardians are responsible for monitoring access to the  computer and internet by minors at all times.

Users are prohibited from modifying any computer settings at any time or using Library computers for conducting commercial business.

Downloading information to a flash drive or to the cloud is permitted. Users must adhere to the copyright laws and licensing agreements when downloading material found on the internet.

The Library’s security erases any previous searches and documents created at the end of a session. Staff does not have the ability to retrieve lost documents.

Printing is available and is sent to the copy machine for retrieval. Black and white copies are $0.15 and color copies $0.25.
